Down the rabbit hole.

I continue to look into the legality of this situation. The funding behind RCMP operations on Wet’suwet’en territory remains opaque, and there’s still an unknown bureaucrat attached to this expense. I’m also investigating how Justice Marguerite Church of the B.C. Supreme Court is able to sidestep recent Supreme Court of Canada decisions on the legal rights of Indigenous peoples. A provincial court has no jurisdiction to override Wet’suwet’en law, particularly when it relates to unceded territory and recognized hereditary governance.

At this stage, I am operating in a journalistic capacity as I investigate and document these issues through blog posts. I’ve reviewed the Canadian online criteria for journalistic organizations, and it appears Wolves of the West Inc. qualifies. While this content may not reach a wide audience, it’s important to record what is being uncovered.

So far, the situation does not reflect well on the RCMP. Below is a video showing what occurred during the RCMP raid on Wet’suwet’en land on November 19, 2021.

The following tweet, now deleted, documented the event:

“#RCMP violently raided Coyote Camp on unceded Gidimt’en territory, Nov 19, 2021, removing #Wetsuweten women from their land at gunpoint on behalf of TC Energy’s proposed Coastal GasLink pipeline. #ShutDownCanada #AllOutForWedzinKwa #WetsuwetenStrong
